- UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Part-Time Diagnostic Technologist
to join our dedicated imaging team. This role offers flexibility,

Schedule: - Two weekdays (typically day shift) - Every other

continued learning and career development - Position Summary: The
Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical
level that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and
initiative. You will apply prescribed ionizing radiation for
diagnostic purposes while ensuring patient safety and comfort. -
Key Responsibilities: - Accurately identify patients using two
identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures -
Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply
departmental protocols for optimal imaging results - Document
patient history in the electronic record as required - Administer
oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy
- Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and
ISITE systems - Perform diagnostic radiography procedures
independently using established protocols - Operate complex imaging
equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image
data - Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and
alleviate concerns - Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and

school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program
completion with a scheduled graduation date. - Candidates hired
prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an
ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification. -
Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT
certification is obtained. Licensure & Certifications: - ARRT
Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist - Must obtain
Radiography Registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1,
2025). - Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025,
must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer. - Basic
Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification (AHA standards including
both didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire. -
If working in a New York facility, certification from ARRT or NMTCB
and licensure through the New York State Department of Health is
required. Clearances (with renewal): - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
