Job Description:
Job Title: SAP RAR Analyst (Functional Consultant - Revenue
Accounting and Reporting) Job Summary: We are seeking an
experienced SAP Functional Consultant with deep expertise in SAP
Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) on S/4 HANA, specifically
within the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device
industries. This role requires hands-on experience implementing,
upgrading, enhancing, and supporting SAP RAR, with strong
functional knowledge of Order to Cash (OTC) and revenue recognition
processes under IFRS 15 / ASC 606 compliance requirements. The
successful candidate will collaborate closely with commercial
operations, finance, and regulatory stakeholders to drive scalable
and compliant revenue accounting solutions that support the unique
business needs of regulated industries. Key Responsibilities: Lead
and support SAP RAR implementations, upgrades, and enhancements on
S/4 HANA in a GxP-compliant environment. Collaborate with
cross-functional business users in Commercial, Finance, and
Compliance to understand complex revenue models and configure RAR
accordingly. Analyze current OTC and revenue recognition processes
to identify gaps, ensure compliance, and recommend SAP best
practices aligned with Life Sciences / Pharma / Medical Device
regulatory and financial reporting requirements. Gather and
document business and functional requirements through stakeholder
interviews, workshops, and analysis sessions. Configure and support
revenue contracts, performance obligations, allocation rules,
postings, and disclosures in SAP RAR. Ensure seamless integration
with related modules such as SAP SD, FI, CO, and potentially SAP
BRIM or Vistex if used for gross-to-net processing or pricing.
Conduct fit-gap analysis, write functional design documents, and
collaborate with technical teams on development specifications.
Lead and support testing efforts including unit, integration, and
user acceptance testing (UAT) with traceability documentation.
Provide training and change management support to business users
and superusers. Serve as the functional SME during audits and
inspections related to revenue accounting processes and systems.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information systems,
Accounting, Business, or related field. 5 years of SAP functional
consulting experience, with at least 2 full-cycle SAP RAR
implementations on S/4 HANA. Proven experience in Life Sciences,
Pharma, or Medical Device industry implementing revenue recognition
processes that align with IFRS 15 / ASC 606. Strong functional
knowledge of SAP Order to Cash (OTC) and integration with SD and FI
modules. Assertive, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the
ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a
regulated industry. Experience in creating and managing project
deliverables including requirements documentation, functional
specifications, test scripts, and training materials. Familiarity
with validation and documentation requirements for GxP systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with
experience interfacing with business, IT, and regulatory teams.
Preferred Qualifications: SAP certification in RAR and/or S/4 HANA.
Experience with contract-based revenue models (e.g., service-based,
subscription, tiered pricing). Familiarity with SAP BRIM, Vistex,
or third-party gross-to-net solutions. Previous involvement in
audits, compliance reviews, or SOX readiness projects. Experience
working in Agile or hybrid SDLC environments. Knowledge of data
privacy and data integrity regulations (e.g., GDPR, 21 CFR Part
11).
