ciltacabtagene autolecuel (cilta-cel). Our strategic partnership is
designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies
to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of
multiple myeloma. Legend Biotech is seeking a Director, Patient
Advocacy as part of the Corporate Communications team based in
Somerset, NJ. Role Overview Reporting to the Senior Director of
Corporate Communications, the director will create and lead a
comprehensive advocacy and engagement strategy for Legend’s growing
oncology portfolio with a special emphasis on hematology. This
includes building relationships with patient advocacy groups and
other relevant stakeholders to ensure patients and those who care
for them have unhindered access to the best possible healthcare
experience. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution
of Legend’s overarching advocacy strategy, establishing best
practices and workstreams across the company. Build and manage
relationships with the patient advocacy community in hematology and
oncology. Partner with Medical Affairs to build relationships with
professional and medical societies. Liaise with key internal
stakeholders including but not limited to those in Communications,
Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Commercial, Regulatory, and
Drug Development, to ensure the needs of the patient community and
those who care for them are represented in every facet of drug
development and commercialization. Align the work of patient
advocacy initiatives to carry out Legend’s mission and meet the
corporate and business objectives. Identify and support
opportunities for patient involvement in advisory boards,
storytelling, awareness campaigns and educational initiatives.
Support the coordination of events, conferences, webinars, and
workshops in collaboration with advocacy organizations. Work with
patient advocacy groups to ensure health equity is delivered to
underrepresented populations. Remain abreast of news, developments,
and trends in the healthcare industry to enhance and adapt patient
advocacy strategy as needed; keep cross-functional partners
informed of the needs of the patient community. Lead employee
engagement initiatives that connect Legend employees to the patient
community. Partner with Legend’s collaboration partner, J&J, to
ensure successful outcomes for our multiple myeloma patients.
Assist with government affairs initiatives that promote access for
patients and support the caregiver community. Ensure all advocacy
initiatives are compliant with applicable regulations and company
policies. Manage the patient advocacy budget. Assist Corporate
Affairs with other ad hoc duties as needed. Requirements
Undergraduate degree required, with an advanced relevant degree
preferred. At least 8 years experience in the biopharmaceutical
industry At least 6 years experience working directly with patient
advocacy organizations, preferably in oncology and hematology.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills. Ability to influence
without direct authority. Strategic thinker who can devise creative
solutions that are healthcare compliant. Must be willing to travel,
as needed, to patient advocacy events and major medical meetings.
Li-LB1 Li-Hybrid The anticipated base pay range is $163,468 -
