Job Description:
We're looking for a Senior Machinist! The Senior Machinist will
independently perform machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing
tasks to support new product development and production. This role
requires interpreting engineering drawings, planning machining
operations, and ensuring high-quality output. The ideal candidate
must possess strong verbal and written communication skills in
English, maintain a safe and organized work environment, and
interact with the company's ERP system for job tracking.
Responsibilities: Prototyping & Product Development: Collaborate
with Engineering to develop prototypes using various manufacturing
methods and materials. Fabricate components, assemble parts, and
test completed units. Design and construct jigs and fixtures.
Assist in product design, testing, and troubleshooting. Adapt
quickly to changing project demands. Production Support:
Manufacture low- and high-volume parts. Modify existing components
as needed. Fabricate and maintain jigs and fixtures for production.
Machine Operations (Including but not limited to): Operate CNC and
manual lathes and milling machines (milling experience is
essential). Use grinders, sanders, and welding equipment (TIG, MIG,
arc). Utilize 3D printing for prototyping. Program CNC machines
using models, drawings, or sketches. Troubleshoot, optimize, and
modify CNC programs to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Operate additional machines while CNC equipment is running.
Measurement & Quality Control: Utilize precision measurement tools
including calipers, micrometers, protractors, scales, and shadow
graphs. Ensure all work meets strict tolerances and quality
standards. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain a clean and safe
work environment. Perform routine maintenance on machines and
tools. Execute additional tasks as required. Adapt to evolving
duties and responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: Advanced
machining skills required. 2 years of experience setting up and
operating 3-axis CNC milling machines. 2 years of experience with
manual mills and lathes. Experience generating and optimizing
toolpaths and G-code using CAM software (Mastercam preferred).
Ability to maintain tolerances within 0.003” for manual machining
operations. NIMS (or equivalent) certifications preferred.
Experience with soldering, brazing, and welding (TIG, MIG, arc).
Electro-mechanical assembly experience (wiring and plumbing).
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and business applications (ERP
systems, email, job tracking). Strong understanding of engineering
drawings and GD&T. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced
environment. Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in a
technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or
equivalent. 5 years of experience in a similar machining role, or
NIMS certification plus 2 years of machining experience. 10 years
of machining/model-making experience preferred. Benefits:
