SummaryThe Comcast Cloud team is in search of an adept OpenStack
engineer to join us in the development, maintenance and
optimization of a robust cloud platform tailored to meet the
stringent demands of Telco and Enterprise applications. -Job
Description - -The successful candidate will play a crucial role in
the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our OpenStack
infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and
performance. Our ideal candidate will have extensive Linux
operating system administration, possess a proficiency in
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible, Git,
Terraform, Kubernetes Operators, Python scripting language. Must
have knowledge and familiarity with operational best practices,
monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Fishymetrics) and
demonstrate a deep understanding of storage, network services,
architecture, distributed services, networks and protocols, and
virtualization.Experience with RedHat OpenStack, RedHat OpenShift,
Kubernetes and Ceph storage technologies are a plus. -As we are a
DevOps team, there will be an expectation to support maintenance
work in some evenings and be part of an on-call rotation with the
team. -Core ResponsibilitiesMonitor, optimize, and troubleshoot
OpenStack services and infrastructure hardware to ensure high
availability, performance, and security. -Collaborate with network
and storage teams to optimize performance and ensure seamless
integration with OpenStack services. -Stay abreast of industry
trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud
computing and OpenStack ecosystem. -Develop and implement
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible,
Terraform, and Git, ensuring automation and repeatability.
-Document architecture, configurations, procedures, and
troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.
-Partners with Engineering project Manager to provide consultative
direction and develops long term objectives and plans to determine
resources, technology, and course of action to achieve results.
-Works with Other members of cross functional teams, joint
ventures, third party vendors and Company's product managers and
marketing teams to deliver quality products, in a timely fashion,
that meet defined requirements. Establishes and maintains working
relationships within GTO, product development teams, joint
ventures, vendors, and contractors. -Participates in Company
product lifecycle process. contributes to and/or Creates product
and technical requirements, detailed design Documents including
transaction, capacity and bandwidth models, systems definitions,
and operational procedures as part of this process. -Understands
key business drivers and applies the knowledge of internal/external
business issues to improve products and services. -Anticipates and
Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies
solutions. -Ensures that projects are properly accepted into the
Engineering team, worked on timely and efficiently and smoothly
transitioned into quality assurance and operations teams.
-Interprets internal/external business issues and recommends
complete solutions based on best practices and Proven technologies.

innovative solutions. -Provides guidance for the performance and
reliability of various crossplatform applications and services.
Ensures that system failures are restored in a timely manner.
-Participates in the review of failures and Provides feedback to
prevent future occurrences. -Consistent exercise of independent
judgment and discretion in matters of significance. -Regular,
consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights
and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.An on-call shift
may be required for approx. 1 weekperiod every 8-12 weeks (about 3

assigned. - - -Minimum Requirements: - -6-8 years designing,
building, and operating OpenStack environments supporting high
availability (99.99% availability), low latency enterprise
applications. -5+ years proficiency in automation and DevOps tools
such as Ansible, AWX, Terraform, GitHub - -5+ years proficiency
with IP Networks and networking design and operations -5+ years
hands on experience with server hardware deployments, maintenance,
and troubleshooting -Strong Linux administration skills. - -Good to
Haves: - -Experience deploying and operating RedHat OpenStack
and/or RedHat OpenShift platforms -Experience engineering and/or
operating SAN or CEPH storage systems - -5+ years' experience with
administering and operating HPE/Dell hardware and firmware -3+
years VoIP (voice over IP) and Telco experience - -Proficiency in
coding such as Python for automation playbooks -Experience
designing, building, and operating Kubernetes platforms desired,
but not required. -Experience designing, building, deploying and
operating Ceph storage in production environments. -Employees at
